“Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.”
– Warren Buffett
It’s important to remember the words of the world’s most successful investor. Now more than ever.
The S&P 500 is trading at 15.6 times forward earnings, a much higher valuation than the five-year (13.5) and 10-year (14.1) average forward P/Es. The index topped the 2,000-point mark for the first time ever this week. By any measure, stocks are technically “overvalued.”
With so few stocks trading on the cheap, it is becoming exceedingly difficult to find a bargain in today’s market. To find undervalued stocks, you have to look far and wide – perhaps even outside U.S. borders. Few people have that kind of free time. So next week, we hope to make things much simpler for you.
Our founder and CEO Ian Wyatt will be attending the 10th annual Value Investing Congress in New York City on Monday and Tuesday. It’s one of the most exclusive investment conferences in the world – one that value investors from all over shell out thousands of dollars to attend. And Wyatt Investment Research will be there reporting live on the latest and greatest investment ideas from some of the industry’s premier value investors.
Some of our best investments in past years have come out of the Value Investing Congress. There was Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-B) in 2011, Howard Hughes Corp. (NYSE: HHC) in 2012 and United Rentals (NYSE: URI) last year. All of them have soundly beaten the market since.
So join us next Monday and Tuesday as we report live from the latest Value Investing Congress. Click here to learn more.
