Communications companies connected with investors on Thursday, as a
better-than-expected jobs report lifted the overall stock market.

Three of the five best-performing small cap stocks are involved in some
aspect of the communications industry: MediaMind Technologies in digital
advertising, Fiber Tower in wireless data and Opnext in network optical
components.

The Russell 2000 index finished 0.27 percent higher, while the Standard
& Poor’s Small Cap 600 rose 0.35 percent, in line with what the large
caps did. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.54 percent, and the
S&P 500 ended 0.18 percent higher.
