Hedge fund heavyweight David Einhorn, of Greenlight Capital, is vocally
calling for the Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT) Board of Directors
to fire CEO Steve Ballmer.
Einhorn owns 9 million shares of Microsoft, and believes it is Ballmer’s
fault that Microsoft carries an ultra-low valuation. After all, under
Ballmer’s tenure, Microsoft has missed opportunities in tablets,
smart-phones, Internet search and cloud computing.
Investors have moved on to technology companies that remain cheap on a
valuation basis, but are still at the forefront of the tremendous growth
for wireless devices and cloud computing.
